I took this photo in a bar during 'happy hour'. I knew this particular line was coming up and got the idea for this post. I thought it would look odd to whip out a camera and take a picture of a TV screen. Then I remembered in the film "Hairspray", when Divine's Edna Turnblad took a flash picture of the TV when her daughter Tracy was dancing on the Korny Collins Show. Deciding it would be an homage to that cinematic moment, I opted to go for it. I had to be fast because the caption line would only appear for a second. I held the camera ready... flash turned off, already focused, waiting for the cop's line "Oh, you're a doctor? " (I know the movie very well) , saw the caption I wanted through the lens, and shot the photo. With the camera back in my lap, I reviewed the photo I'd taken. A broad smile appeared on my face. I put the camera back in it's case and took a sip of my cocktail. I glanced around to see if I'd attracted any on-lookers. As NYC gay bar etiquette would dictate, no one seemed to take any notice.
